She's Not Ashamed To Come Out Of The Water.

Wow!  What amazing time it has been in the Plus Size Blogesphere, with the airing of Plus Size Wars (Ladies you all rocked! and were seriously articulate)  this was followed by Jamelia's very literal body shaming that I should be so ashamed of my size that I should be made to feel uncomfortable when I dare to look for clothes to adorn my body!  Oh bore off, hasbeen!  Katie Hopkins has already been voted the nations number one mouthpiece so that role is filled, try and find a new unique selling point Ms I'm against bullying but it's fine to bully the fat or very thin.  Big thanks to Debz at Wannabe Princess that created the hashtag #wearethethey, a most brilliant response to such stupidity!

Unfortunately throughout this exciting time I was silent as work stuff meant I didn't feel like blogging and was too tired/busy, but I loved reading everyone else's stuff.

Anyhow in celebration of being fine, fat and forty, I intend to parade my fat old body in my first bikini since my twenties and these beauties are the contenders.  The first sites I looked at were the US based sites but around $80.00 is a bit costly for a bikini especially with possible postage and customs.

The first contender is this Avon Bikini, Avon is definitely not even somewhere I think of when considering clothing but this beauty is affordable at £9.00 for the top and £8.00 for the bottoms.  The sizes are up to a 40F on top and a 26 on the bottom.

A bit pricier but also very lovely is this summer rose set from Asos it goes up to 42F on top and a size 28 on the bottom.

I have no idea of what the quality of this would be like but if you are a smaller fat and I would say more modestly sized on top like me, this might work.  It goes up to a size 22 and is under £6.00 on e bay.

This bikini by Liz McClarnon is fun and fruity I can see it teamed with a fun fruity clutch for a day out at the beach.  Although I am pretty confident my only concern it is a bit lower waisted than the others but the print is so fun it could win me over.

So which would you choose and what will you be wearing at the beach this Summer?

OOTD - Robots Take Over.

So Saturday was the day of my Birthday surprise that had been meticulously planned by my friend.  Unfortunately she had been pretty poorly throughout the week and on Saturday she ended up admitted to hospital, it seemed a bit unfair to go ahead without her when she had put so much time and effort in the planning that we postponed, but not all elements could be put on hold as my old housemate from Uni was in Canterbury for the occasion.

Unfortunately she couldn't do the whole surprise thing cos because of the situation I now knew but the girl had come a bloody long way for my birthday so it was only fair we did cake and cocktails and my other friend Max came too and took these pics.  I will do a review of the Moat House Tea Rooms later, but for now lets focus on what I wore.

I wore my new red robot print Get Cutie Dress with my trusty Henry Holland Denim jacket.  The dress is a nice light weight cotton and really easy to wear and gives good cleavage.

I teamed it with these Silver Sandals from River Island at ASOS, which whilst having a bit of a heel were comfortable and practical to walk in, if you have visited Canterbury you will know there are a lot of cobbles which with my proficiency in heels could be dangerous.

And carrying on with the Robot theme I wore a Janine Basil Robot headband that kinda reminds me of Metal Mickey a TV show from the 80's.

It was still a wonderful day after all who can really complain about seeing an old friend and having tea, cake, champagne and cocktails.

Outfit details:
Grace Dress in Robot print made shorter - Get Cutie
Denim Jacket - Henry Holland at Debenhams (old)
Sandals - River Island at ASOS no longer there but these are similar
Headband - Janine Basil (could only find hairclip version now)
Fabulous Forty Necklace - Blackheart Creatives Custom order

Here's What I Would Have Spent Asos Main Range

When Debz from The Secret Diary of A Wannabe Princess organised another blogger challenge, showing what us plus size ladies would have spent I knew I had to be involved, as I have long had a dream of all sizes being able to shop together in perfect harmony.

The brand selected was Asos, who I have a lot of love for as they were a trailblazer bringing out their Curve range when no one else was really doing it, also it has a pretty good range and I feel they do there bit.  To be honest I don't look at their main range a lot as I know I will only want things and having looked at it for this challenge I am almost pleased that they don't do my size as I could be in financial ruin.

I didn't look at their whole range as the list was becoming ridiculous, but here are my favourites.

I love the a dress and the dresses here have a delicious retro vibe to them.  I love the pink candy 60's embellished shift and the loud print shifts that remind me slightly of a blind I had in my student house.  Finally I love the green jacquard dress which to me reminds me of what Audrey Hepburn would wear if she was shopping now.

I adore a print and this dinosaur print outfit is just amazing and I think this print would be up there with my all time favourites.
Again I am a huge T shirt fan and wear them a lot at work.  The Barbie T shirt reminds me of a cross between Nikki Minaj and Barbie, also I love Barbie and a fun fact is for a while I collected them.  Then the Cupcake long sleeved T shirt reminds me of Calender Girls and I can't resist Cupcake tits.

Finally those who know me both on social media and in real life know I am lusting hard over a tutu skirt and this one if there was any left anywhere near my size would be in my wardrobe, unfortunately I didn't know how generous the bigger sizes were until they were all sold out.

So there are my top picks and although I love Curve, God I could spend on your main range so come on roll out those perfect 60's style dresses, dino prints tutu's and fab T's so I can get my chubby paws on them.

To see what the other bloggers would have spent:

My Fabulous at Forty Wishlist

In case I hadn't mentioned it, I reach an important milestone this year I am Forty as weird as it seems to me as I hardly feel a day over 21 in my head.  I am hoping that The hub and I can go away for a little adventure, munching, shopping, drinking cocktails and building new fantastic memories.  Obs a girl needs clothes for such adventures and on my current spending ban I find myself lusting more and more over dresses and other friperies that I can't have, so I have compiled a little list where money is no object and I can have anything I bloody well like.

Firstly is this amazing (said in that annoying AM-MAY-ZING voice) dress from my old fave Get Cutie and is their Starlet dress, this dress is not cheap and is something I would really have to consider before buying. However, I really love the drape of the material and the shape which I think would look good on my figure.

The other beauty of a Get Cutie is you can choose the material it is made in.  At the moment I would either go with the wonderfully fun Dino print or the retro Caravan print.

I have never bought from this brand so I am not sure what they are like but I have come across a really lovely little retro brand specialising in 60's and 70;s dresses called Violet House.  I love retro styles but I do get a bit fed up of having to go with a 50's retro style as I love the 60's and the mod look, which is the kind of retro I would veer towards in my early 20's.  Although Violet House only do size 6 to 18 they do custom orders and I am loving this psychedelic print dress and the tartan one, although I might go a little longer.

I have always fancied a tulle skirt since the Sex and the City days and I love the one I have seen on Asos but it is only available in Black in plus sizes and I want something different to black or white.  This grey one from Elsie's Attic is beautiful and again although they only go to a size 18 they say they will do custom orders.  Again for me over £40.00 is a lot to spend on a skirt but I think I would wear it a lot.

I would probably team this with some beautiful silver shoes and a jumper or T shirt and I think these shoes from River Island at Asos would be lovely.

Anyway this is my wish list and maybe if my spending ban goes well at the end I can treat myself to something splendid which I will love forever.  What would you choose? Cos I can never decide.
