My Big Fat Christmas Lust List

Let's face it who doesn't have a lust list, the things we'd buy if money was no option and there were no bills to pay like ever again and Christmas brings this list to the front of mind and a choir of naughty little angels sing buy it, fuck it, buy it over and over again in my head.  However, good sense usually prevails so I give you the Big Fat Christmas Lust List, most of these items will never be mine but it don't stop my little heart wanting them and maybe if I'm a good girl The Hub will get me some or I might crack and get a couple of things.

I missed out on the Mermaid dress last year, now Claire Richards is taunting me with the green sequin dress but at £95.00 I can't really justify it for a dress which I'll probably only wear about twice.

I am really into retro packaging and the smell of cherry blossom so this should be perfect and is reasonable at £12.99, this may well be a treat for me.

I have been back in my beloved house a few months following my Swansea adventure, it is nowhere near being how I want it to look as it is magnolia to the max, has some damp that we are trying to cure and I am waiting for the carpenter to do some jobs.  But I am lusting after this  Lapin and me lamp pretty damn hard but it is more of a I will think about it purchase as for me £65.00 is a lot for a lamp, and I would need somewhere perfect to put it.

Everyone knows I love a print.  However, nearly all my dresses flare and now I am feeling a bit brave I am thinking I would love to try a pencil one and this one that comes made to measure from Little Wicked would be perfect, especially as you can choose your neckline and sleeves and the print, but all I can say perfection like that doesn't come cheap but it is only comparable if not cheaper than brands like Get Cutie.  If not for Christmas maybe be the big Birthday that is fast approaching!

I love this bag from Vendula they do a huge selection of different shops, but I love the lingerie shop and the detail involved in even having the peep show at the back.  I really want this bag and I keep going back to it, so maybe?

I have heard great things about Limecrime and I love their packaging (purple with a unicorn, I defy you not to love that)  this Candy future lipstick Contessa Fluorescent  is totally doing it for me and it is animal testing free and suitable for vegans so I don't have to feel guilty!

So that is a highly edited lust list as who am I kidding I want all the stuff all the time and maybe if I am a good girl some of it might just be mine.

Fabulous Flamingos!

I love Summer it makes everything seem somehow better and like anything is possible, I remember being a teenager and seeing the first leaf fall one year and ever the dramatist thinking:  "this is it, nothing will be as good again!" a single tear trickling down my face.

This year I am particularly impressed by the Pineapple Prints that are about but the Flamingos, be still my beating heart!  I love the kitschness of them, they remind me of 1950's Vegas and cocktails with cherries on top!

I am particularly in lust with this beauty by Uncommon Nonsense and have it earmarked for my friends 30th Birthday Bash.

Also making my heart beat faster is the Palm Bling Range by the fabulous Black heart Creatives.  I have already indulged in a Neon Yellow Pineapple Necklace but these Flamingos are also making my wallet itch and a pair of drop earring would compliment the dress nicely I think!  Although the Palm Bling Earrings themselves would also be lovely!

 I am also having a bit of a internal struggle with myself over the Fatkini, I have seen loads of Blogger Babes totally rocking theirs but I am not sure I feel ready to push this boundary as despite feeling confident I worry I am too bumpy, fat and hairy, despite knowing I'm not, also I look very different to last time I wore a Bikini back in 1996!  But if I get there this Liz McClarnon for Simply Be is lush and despite her involvement in Atomic Kitten(Sorry any fans just not my taste), I think her swimwear looks lovely.

So what Prints make you think Summer and have you seen any cool Flamingo stuff and if so where?

OOTD - Cosmic Girl

I love a print, I have prints of Gnomes, Care Bears, Wizard of Oz, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Alexander Henry's Fishing Girls, so when I saw one of my favourtite brands Get Cutie were having a sale I couldn't resist a peek, as usually the cost of their dresses makes them a very special treat.  Unfortunately the Mexican Wrestler fabric dress I have been coveting for a while wasn't in my size but there was a very nice cosmic print dress in the Belle style in my size and frankly who could resist wearing the solar system.

Now sorry for the awkward posing this is one of my first outfit of the day posts, where I have posed for the picture rather than the picture happening organically.

The dress has no sleeves and as it is still cold I have teamed it with a long black cardie from Asda, shapewear tights from Monsoon which claim to fit up to a size 28, but are a bit tight on me really at a short 20 -22, and my trusty Clarks boots.  The bag a Paul Frank satchel which was a pressie from my hubby and I love it as it is so shiny and has the cute Julius head on it.

As there is a high neckline I didn't bother with a necklace and teamed it with a Janine Basil Hairband with glittery blue stars that I just adore and wear as often as possible.

All in all I think this is kind of a funky science teacher look, although I failed science spectacularly, back in the day.

Cheese Burgers by the Sea!

As those who may read my blog may know I recently moved from my beloved Deal to Swansea to be with my Mama!  I can't pretend this has been easy and I have been terribly homesick for my home town, friends and all the other stuff, especially Chilli Sauce from the kebab shop, it just ain't the same here.

So when the cheese fest that is Fake That (think singing plumbers) I usually go to with my friends came up, me and the Hub had to go.  At first we looked for a cheap B n B but when we couldn't find one we rented a cute cottage as our base.

I cannot rate The Mermaids Folly highly enough, very homely with touches of its owners Clive and Stephen throughout the place, comfy beds, cool pictures, but perhaps a bit too much to break!

So apart from hanging out in the cottage we spent time with our friends talking and catching up, going out for lunches at delicious spots such as The Greedy Cow in Margate, if you ever get to Margate do check it out it is in the Old Town (avoid any other part really) and serves amazing burgers and brownies.  The Burgers are homemade and juicy without being greasy, served with cheeses such as brie and Stilton, and topped with meats such as salt beef which is thin and crispy, Bacon or black pudding.  I had a salt beef and stilton, The Hub Stilton and Bacon and Jen had a Brie Burger.  There is also toppings such as a Gherkin, Beetroot and pickle I'm fussy so don't have these but Jen and the Hub assured me they were delish!  The Brownies on that day were Ginger, Raisin and Original, sadly my beloved peanut butter or Salted Caramel were not on, so I got a traditional for at home which was rich and fudgy.

Apart from eating we partied, drank too much and there were props involved and all in all we had a fab time!!!

I am just back from Vegas, not very stylish at the moment in my Dangermouse sweatshirt and jeans that are a bit tighter than when I left.
One good thing about being on holiday is I can indulge my love of dresses as working with kids I don't get to wear my pretty print dresses as much as I would like.
I haven't got a full length picture but this is of me in my favourite Limb dress

I gave teamed it with a H by Henry Holland Denim Jacket (although it was generally roasting there were a couple of colder days) and a pair of black patent ballet flats from Next which you can't see.
My jewelry is a necklace from the Hairy Growler an amazing jeweler who makes jewelry out of old coins and a pair of earrings bought for a quid in the Dotty P sale.
I will post some more info and pics on my Vegas trip soon.

Long Time No See

Hello, I apologize I have been so very quiet on here.  If I am honest firstly I got busy as I got a new jobbins and following that I got a bit emo following the death of my precious Dad, and since then I have a bit (well a lot) lost.  My mojo has left the building and I have to admit I have not written a jot recently.
So I thought the least I could do is post a picture of the pretty dress I wore for Emma's wedding.  It is from the rather wonderful Limb clothing,  who also provided the dress I wore for my Dad's funeral.

Thanks to the lovely Fran for her help in getting both dresses and I can't wait to get another.

And here is the pic of me wearing it with my lovely Hub.  We may have drank a few glasses of vino and a couple of shots by this point.

And in case you were interested, this is the one I wore for the funeral of my lovely Papa Dave.

I think he would have approved as he was a bit of a natty dresser, never happier than in a pair of red cords or a hat.
So enough of this pity party as even in darkness I believe there is good stuff, so here is my list of good stuff that has happened since I last blogged:

1. My friend Emma got married and is expecting Baba Baldwin (number 3)
2. I may be going to Las Vegas (well I am wheeeeeeeeee)
3. I cut off my hair.
4. I discovered chocolate peanut butter brownies at The Greedy Cow in Margate.
5. I had a very nice Owl tattoo on my foot (Thanks Martin at Tribal Nation)
6. I discovered Vampire Bunnies dresses and the Hub bought me a rather spanky Care Bears one for Christmas.
7. I now appreciate my friends and family more than ever.

So what can you expect from me now, well I will try to blog at least weekly with reviews on restaurants, my adventures, perhaps a little fatshion (as a plus size princess I try to be stylish) and other random Mc Guffins that float through my head.

Dreaming of Pretty Dresses

Twee loves an excuse to dress up, in the words of Saint Audrey: "I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and... I believe in miracles." (okay struggle a tad with miracles, but I definitely believe in magic, Oh yes sir!)  

My next known excuse to dress up is one of my besties Emma's wedding!  I met Emma some years ago when she was going out with a friend of mine, this friend has faded away, but Emma has stayed and she is marrying lovely Paul, and I can't wait to share their special day and not just because it is an excuse to primp to the max!!!!

I had my hat set at this remarkable Vivien of Holloway dress, worn here by the fabulous Anna Fur Laxis:

However, disaster struck, this marvellous dress is sold out and there are no plans I discovered to restock until Halloween time!!! (Could you take it off your website please it is taunting me, giggling saying you will never own me over and over, and I can't bear it)

So I could go Vivien of Holloway in a different print I was thinking:

Or I am a BIG, MASSIVE, Get Cutie Fan and I do covet their Starlett Dress:

However, story of my life the print shown Grizzly Cliffs is sold out, so I was thinking:

This fabric is Majestic Wings, unfortunately the Starlett Dress retails at a jaw dropping (for me) £155.00, but I do have another one of their dresses (short cap sleeve in Gnome print) that I live and die in, to the point where I have to state when I see people:  "I do own other clothes, honest!"

Or Hell Bunny have some rather spectacular dresses in their new (I think) plus size range, as my darlings I have not got Saint Audrey's gamine figure but rather more Va Va Voom think Saint Elizabeth in the ice cream years (Vanilla Bean with Hershey's chocolate syrup was allegedly her poison)

So here is the Hell Bunny Dress I am thinking of:

It is their Hawaii Dress and features flowers, butterflies and pin up girls cavorting, it is stocked at Soho's and costs about £49.99 in my size.  They also do a really nice Zombie print comic strip one, but maybe not for a wedding?

And lastly there is E bay, it is a great source of cheaper dresses and I have found these beauties hiding out there, on dress190:

They both cost about £30.00.

So dearest readers some feedback would be appreciated, then we can talk shoes and accessories, oh yes......
