OOTD - Did Cute Go Too Far?

I was meant to go to the Fat Clothing Swap today.  However, lack to money to get to London and extreme lethargy struck so I never got there.  Here's what I would have worn anyway, but I have to ask has my love of cute and Kitsch gone to far and I'm not sure I might look like cute threw up.  You decide?

I am wearing a New Look Inspire Bardot dress in a size 22, I am usually a 20 on top and this was a ok fit so I would size up, I bought this for a bargain tenner in the Asos sale.  I always loved Bardot tops in the 80's but somehow never had one so this is my chance.

Here's a picture of the dress without the cardie, I teamed it with my trusty Dolly Cool Zombie cocktail necklace.

Despite not being in love with the Voodoo Vixen plus size collection I did adore this cardie and although it was a bit expensive I bought it from Simply Be. I did mean to send it back but forgot! But is super cute with the cat applique and it makes me feel a bit sweater girl.

This is where cute may have threw up I then teamed it with a Milkshake bag bought in the New Look Sale for a bargainous £4.00, some Iron Fist shoes in Buns and Roses (look closely there are Bunnies!) and Hamburger earrings from Qu'tse in the Chinatown Market.   I was going for a Grease themed stranded at the drive in look but not too sure I got there.

So there you have it is more, more or perhaps less would have been better, personally I think either the shoes or the bag should have gone but you live and learn and fashion is about fun and experiments right?

I used to feel cross that High Street Stores put their Plus sizes in the back of the store, and whilst the internet has made things better I can buy cute frocks from indies and there is ASOS Curve who I think stock fantastic fashion forward stuff.  However, it seems that on the High Street this seems to have given stores the go ahead to just pop their Plus sizes on the internet and whilst I am sure they will tell me it is financial I can't help but feel this is bullshit and they don't want my fat body in their shop.

Whilst the internet is fab and believe me and my bank balance I am  a huge fan, I lament the loss of shopping as a social experience.  I want to go out with my friends fat and thin and be able to shop, try on frocks and bottoms and not be restricted to bags, shoes and the odd top.  I want to be able to go out and buy an emergency pair of jeans for work when mine are looking a bit sad or I just haven't done my washing.  I don't want to wait at least 24 hours for something this sucks arse frankly.

So with the news New Look have banished my fat self to the internet by only stocking Inspire on the internet (apologies pulling it from 250 stores and probably leaving 5 items in the rest) I will be soul searching before I part with my round pound with them!  As if I can't strut my fabulous fat self into your store do you deserve my custom?

*Since this post I have been contacted by New Look (See Comments) who have stated that they are not removing the range from in the stores.  This is great news as I know a lot of people really liked this range.  Although I was really angry with New Look I am still not exactly cheering as in my area neither Canterbury or Westwood Cross stock Inspire to my knowledge and it does feel like it has been pushed as more of an internet based range.  Although when I lived in Swansea Fforest Fach had a really good range although again it had been taken out of the Swansea Store.

Flowers In The Pouring Rain

Initially this post was going to about daisy print, in the preview of Evan's new collection that was on The Arched Eyebrow there was a gorgeous daisy overlay over a zingy neon background, I don't know if this is ever going to make an appearance, but it hasn't yet and there are some very safe daisy prints on there. but gradually the daisy thing has proved a bit monochrome for me and I need colour to brighten up this grey Welsh winter, I am squelching my way through.

I also make no apologies for a lot of dresses, I am a 90's girl at heart and I spent a lot of my youth in DM's and flowery dresses, dying my hair with henna and trying to do a sorta  Riot Grrrl, hippie meets Tori Amos chic and I'm not sure I'm over it yet.

I love this dress and would probably wear it with tights and either flat or heeled Mary Jane Style Shoes and a satchel.

Lipstick Boutique Floral Panel Pencil Dress - Asos Curve £65.00

I have only just got into body con dresses recently as I was scared I would look too porky and bumpy.  The first time I wore anything at all like this was at Plus London and I found I like it, I'm still not brave enough to wear it without shapewear and I would probably style this in a classic way with seamed stockings and plain black heels.

Alice & You Floral Print Playsuit - Asos Curve £28.00

I think this would look great with either clunky school girl style shoes or DM's in the winter and sandals and bare legs in the summer.

Liz McClarnon Bikini - Simply Be £30.00

I am no fan of Atomic Kitten but of Liz McClarnon's swimwear collection with its daisies and flamingos, oh yes.   I am also trying to clear my next fashion hurdle the bikini and I could think of worse places to start than this really cute retro style daisy Bikini.

New Look Inspire Fringed Kimono -£22.99

I can imagine wafting around in some ballet flats and jeans like a fat Sienna or Kate and the kimono is another style I want to try as I have seen loads of blogger babes looking great in them.

This is a very 90's style dress and I like it, they also do a bird print one in the same style that rocks too.

If full on floral isn't your thing then this necklace from Boden is really cute and a bit Boho/Hippie in style.

Woven Front Floral Print Sweat- Pink Clove £18.00

I think this is really wearable and would look good for my work with kids where practicality is the name of the game.

I think this is really pretty and I love the bright blue, it is currently in the sale and most sizes are still available, I think there is a discount of 15% at checkout for sale stuff too.

And if it is still too cold to even contemplate anything but Jeans and Jumpers in this rain sozzled winter maybe this beautiful bottle would perk up your dressing table.
